Fastsoft / Guide
Practical guide
Inspect rendering, audio, fonts and device settings locally, then calculate a combined SHA-256 hash to understand some characteristics visible to websites.
How to use it
- Start the check and let the browser calculate Canvas, WebGL and offline audio output.
- Inspect each characteristic and the combined hash; unavailable items are marked.
- Change a browser or window setting and run again to compare.
Example
Changing window zoom can affect pixel ratio or rendering and may change the combined hash.
What to know
The hash is not a unique identity, tracking proof or risk score. Only candidate fonts are checked, and browsers may restrict WebGL or audio. Results are not uploaded to Fastsoft.
Common question
Does a matching hash mean the same person?
No. Different browsers can share characteristics, and one browser can change over time. Population data would be needed to estimate rarity.
