Practical guide
Connect from your browser to a WebSocket endpoint and inspect connect, send, receive and close events. Use it to debug your own real-time API or an endpoint you are authorized to test.
How to use it
- Enter a ws:// or wss:// URL. A public HTTPS page usually needs wss://.
- Connect and watch the status change.
- Send a message, inspect the timestamped log, and disconnect when finished.
Example
While building a messaging service, connect to its test endpoint, send a JSON string and compare the reply with the fields you expected.
What to know
Messages are sent directly to the server you specify. Authentication, Origin checks and network policy may reject the connection. This tool cannot add custom headers to the WebSocket handshake.
Common question
What should I check when the connection fails?
Verify the service is running, the URL and certificate are valid, and the server accepts connections from a browser.
